Aquashade®
Aquashade is an EPA registered aquatic plant growth control dye that limits sunlight below the surface, helping prevent and control underwater weeds before they take over a pond or lake.
Product Overview
More than color. A smarter way to shade out underwater growth.
Aquashade does more than make water look attractive. It uses a precise blend of dyes to reduce the amount of sunlight that reaches underwater plants. Less sunlight means less photosynthesis, which helps slow or prevent the growth of submerged weeds in contained ponds and lakes.
This makes Aquashade a practical choice for pond and lake managers who want a simple, season-long tool to help reduce underwater weed pressure. It is most effective in water deeper than two feet and works best when applied early in the season, before plants have a chance to germinate and spread.
Aquashade can also be used as part of a larger management plan. It may help reduce the pressure from underwater plants, while herbicides or algaecides may still be needed for surface algae mats, shallow-water plants, or existing heavy growth.
