EUTROPHIX

Large-scale water restoration, delivering measurable impact

EutroPHIX represents SEPRO Scientific’s approach to permanent water quality restoration. Through decades of scientific research and real-world partnerships, we guide authorities and stakeholders to restore and maintain healthy water systems.

Restoration with a proven process
This science-led, consultative restoration program is designed for water bodies impacted by nutrient pollution and toxic algal blooms. Equipped with decades of scientific expertise and proven methodologies, the EutroPHIX team partners with public agencies, lake associations, and private stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in water clarity, nutrient levels, and long-term ecosystem health.

Eutrophication
Excess nutrients accumulate in the water as a result of runoff and other factors. Over time, these nutrients fuel the growth of harmful algae blooms and other challenges.
Harmful Algal Blooms
Harmful algal blooms are a major concern in freshwater and marine environments, producing toxins that are dangerous to humans, pets, livestock, and ecosystems. EPA’s current HAB forecast page says the model predicts weekly bloom probability for over 2,000 of the largest U.S. lakes and reservoirs.
Toxins
Toxins produced by HABs can cause a variety of illnesses and be lethal to pets. EPA’s 2022 National Lakes Assessment found microcystins detected in 50% of lakes, and levels exceeded EPA’s recreational criterion in 2%, representing 5,360 lakes nationwide.

Economy
Restoring the water quality of a lake isn’t an easy
task, but a lack of action can lead to even more
harmful outcomes.
THE PROCESS
Combining scientific rigor and practical implementation
01
Site assessment & baseline sampling
Comprehensive water body analysis — nutrient loading, biological inventory, and historical data review to establish a treatment baseline for your unique scenario.
02
Treatment plan development
Science-based restoration roadmap co-developed with public agencies, lake associations, and private stakeholders.
03
Precision application & monitoring
Partnership with Stewards of Water and other lake professionals, as well as local stakeholders, to guide the process of the prescribed implementation.
04
Long-term stewardship & reporting
Defensible documentation for regulators and stakeholders. Seasonal monitoring and adaptive management for sustained results.
