CASE STUDIES
Tamarack Golf Course
A strategic growth regulator program improved turf density, playability, and maintenance efficiency across a high-traffic municipal golf facility.
THE CHALLENGE
Improving Turf Quality Across a High-Play Facility
Tamarack Golf Course needed to improve turf density, reduce clipping yield, strengthen bentgrass establishment, and enhance playability across a heavily used property with limited maintenance windows. Existing turf populations and ongoing weed pressure further complicated management efforts.
THE APPROACH
Developing a Comprehensive Cutless Program
The superintendent introduced Cutless first on approaches before expanding applications to fairways and other managed turf areas. The program focused on encouraging lateral bentgrass growth, improving density, reducing excessive vertical growth, and supporting establishment following overseeding and renovations.
Denser Turf and Better Playing Conditions
The Cutless program improved turf density, enhanced bentgrass development, and delivered more consistent playing conditions for golfers.
